Intelligent Portable Solar Tracker with Real-Time IoT Energy Monitoring for Emergency Applications
Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia
About the Project
The innovation is a portable dual-axis solar tracking system with IoT-based real-time energy monitoring designed for emergency and outdoor applications. The system automatically tracks the sun using light sensors, a microcontroller, and servo motors to maximize solar energy absorption throughout the day, resulting in higher energy efficiency than conventional fixed solar panels. Integrated with IoT technology, it enables users to remotely monitor key performance parameters, including voltage, current, power, and energy generation, while storing data for further analysis. The use of 3D-printed components makes the system lightweight, compact, and easy to transport. This innovation provides a reliable renewable energy solution for search and rescue (SAR) operations, camping, military missions, and remote communities where access to the electrical grid is limited. By combining intelligent solar tracking, real-time monitoring, and a portable design, the system delivers improved energy generation, greater flexibility, and a practical, sustainable power source for various real-world applications.
