About the Project
ECHOAID is a smart driving assistance system designed to help deaf and hard-of-hearing drivers detect emergency vehicle sirens. The system uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) to detect and identify siren sounds from ambulances, fire trucks, and police vehicles in real time. When a siren is detected, an alert is simultaneously provided through the ECHOAID device and the user’s smartphone. The device provides a warning signal, while the smartphone produces vibration and a notification to alert the user. This innovation aims to improve situational awareness, enable faster responses, and enhance road safety. ECHOAID provides an inclusive and practical solution for safer driving among deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals.
