DEVELOPMENT OF KITCHEN WASTE SHREDDING MACHINE FOR COMPOST PRODUCTION

SJKT PUSAT TELOK DATOK

About the Project

Kitchen waste is a growing environmental problem due to landfill accumulation, unpleasant odours, and greenhouse gas emissions. This project focuses on the development of a Kitchen Waste Shredding Machine for Compost Production to reduce organic waste size and enhance the composting process. The machine uses stainless-steel rotating blades, an electric motor, heating system, temperature controller, and safety cover. Testing was conducted at 70°C using 50g, 100g, and 200g of kitchen waste, with processing times of 7, 5, and 10 minutes, respectively. The results showed that the machine effectively reduced waste size for compost preparation. This affordable and eco-friendly innovation supports sustainable waste management in homes, schools, and small farms and contributes to SDG 11, 12, 13 and 15.
