AeroWing Adaptive Controllable System (AEROW)
Politeknik Banting Selangor
About the Project
AEROW is a new folding winglet system designed to improve aircraft performance, save fuel, and support cleaner aviation. Due to ongoing conflicts in the Middle East, oil supply and jet fuel prices can change quickly, increasing costs for airlines. AEROW helps solve this problem by using a winglet that opens during flight to reduce drag and fuel use, and folds back during ground operations to provide more space around the aircraft. The system can be added to existing aircraft without replacing the whole wing. AEROW aims to reduce fuel use and carbon emissions while supporting the aviation industry’s goal of achieving Fly Net Zero by 2050.
