About the Project
ABSTRACT: SUKUN SCRUB Sukun Scrub is an innovative body scrub prototype developed using locally sourced breadfruit leaves (Artocarpus altilis). This project explores the potential of underutilised natural resources in personal care product development. The formulation combines breadfruit leaf powder with Sativa glutinosa starch and other ingredients to produce a scrub prototype. The product was developed through a formulation process involving ingredient preparation, mixing and prototype evaluation. However, antimicrobial testing conducted by our team did not demonstrate antimicrobial activity under the tested conditions. Further research is needed to evaluate the product’s safety, stability and effectiveness. This innovation promotes sustainable resource utilisation and community-based development in Pulau Aman.
