About the Project
Rapid urban development and increasing transportation demands necessitate efficient, user-centric public transit solutions to foster sustainable mobility. This project presents JiTransit, a smart transit tracker application designed to support smart urban mobility along the Shahab Perdana to Jitra corridor (Route K20) in Kedah. Utilizing a user experience (UI/UX) design approach integrated with spatial data and field observations, JiTransit addresses key public transit challenges such as real-time tracking limitations, bus stop accessibility issues, and inadequate service information dissemination. The research methodology combines site inventories of existing transit infrastructure with quantitative data gathered from public transit users via structured questionnaires. Findings indicate a strong demand for real-time tracking tools and interactive transit interfaces among daily commuters. JiTransit bridges this gap by offering route visualization, real-time schedule tracking, and user-friendly digital dashboards, ultimately enhancing commuter convenience and advocating for smart city initiatives in regional public transportation management.
