SmartQ-KPMBM AI-Assisted Digital Queue Management System for Student Registration

About the Project

The current student registration process at KPM Bandar Melaka often requires parents and students to wait for a long time to complete various registration procedures, especially during peak registration periods. As student registration and new intakes are conducted three times a year, the same challenges involving long waiting times, crowded registration areas and repeated status enquiries may occur during each registration cycle. SmartQ-KPMBM is therefore proposed as an AI-assisted digital queue management system to provide a more systematic and efficient solution. Students and parents can scan a QR code, obtain a digital queue number and monitor their queue status in real time without having to continuously wait at the registration counter. The proposed AI component estimates waiting time and forecasts service demand, helping staff plan counter capacity more effectively. SmartQ-KPMBM aims to reduce unnecessary waiting, improve queue transparency and provide a more efficient, organised and user-friendly registration experience for students, parents and staff.
