About the Project

Smartimbang is a smart schoolbag weight monitoring and alert system designed to help students become more aware of the risks of carrying excessively heavy schoolbags. The system uses an Arduino microcontroller, load cell, HX711 module, OLED display, LED indicators, and a buzzer to measure and monitor the weight of a schoolbag. The measured bag weight is compared with the student’s body weight and converted into a percentage. Based on the calculated percentage, the system provides an immediate visual and sound alert to indicate whether the schoolbag weight is within a safe range, approaching a risky level, or too heavy. Smartimbang offers a simple, low-cost, and practical solution that can be used in schools or at home. It promotes healthy habits, increases awareness of schoolbag management, and demonstrates the application of embedded systems and automation in solving everyday student health and safety problems.
