About the Project
Selangor’s Bunga Tanjung Kelopak 9 heritage motif is losing relevance in modern fashion. To preserve this visual language, this practice-based research translates the traditional floral motif into contemporary jewellery. The methodology combines the BDPQ spatial ideation process utilizing horizontal and vertical flips with Tetris-inspired modular interlocking concepts. The outcome is a scalable, 3D-prototyped 916 gold necklace. This approach successfully modernizes historical heritage, proving that traditional regional identity can be actively preserved and effectively communicated to younger demographics through minimalist, geometric wearable art.
