About the Project

This project focuses on developing an affordable robotic gripper equipped with flexible piezoelectric pressure sensors to overcome challenges such as handling fragile objects, safety risks in chemical waste management, and the high costs of existing robotic systems. The system combines pressure sensors and potentiometers to monitor applied force, while a microcontroller regulates servo motor movements to achieve controlled gripping. Performance testing conducted with loads ranging from 100 g to 1000 g demonstrated a consistent increase in capacitance, indicating reliable sensor response. Key features include real-time pressure monitoring and an automatic stopping function to reduce the risk of damaging objects. The developed system offers potential applications in waste management and prosthetic technology, providing a practical and cost-effective solution for tasks that require precise gripping and pressure control.
