About the Project

Marine Squad is an educational game developed using Scratch to raise awareness of ocean pollution and the importance of protecting marine ecosystems. Inspired by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 14 (Life Below Water), the project aims to encourage pupils to understand the threats faced by marine life and learn how their actions can contribute to healthier oceans. The game features three interactive missions. In the first mission, players navigate a maze to close a leaking waste valve and prevent ocean pollution. In the second mission, players remove harmful carbon dioxide bubbles to learn about the impact of excessive carbon dioxide on marine environments. In the third mission, players replant damaged coral reefs to promote awareness of coral reef conservation and marine biodiversity. Through game-based learning, visual storytelling and interactive challenges, Marine Squad integrates environmental education with digital creativity, problem-solving and computational thinking. The game provides an engaging and meaningful learning experience that encourages pupils to take responsibility for protecting marine life. Ultimately, Marine Squad aims to inspire young learners to become responsible ocean guardians and contribute to a cleaner, healthier and more sustainable marine environment.
