About the Project
Finding suitable reading materials in school libraries can be challenging and time-consuming for students, often requiring manual navigation through extensive collection systems. LIBROBOT AI addresses this by integrating artificial intelligence (AI), natural language processing (NLP), library database management, and autonomous mobile robotics into a unified retrieval and delivery system. The primary objective is to enhance student access to library resources, optimize search efficiency, and streamline routine librarian workloads. Students interact with an intuitive AI interface using natural language queries to specify topics, reading levels, or genres. The system analyzes the request, recommends suitable books, cross-references availability, and transmits precise shelf coordinates to an autonomous mobile robot. A small-scale STEM prototype demonstrates the core methodology: using sensor-guided navigation and obstacle avoidance, the robot travels to miniature library shelves, retrieves the target book, and delivers it to a designated collection point. This project demonstrates the successful combination of AI-driven recommendations and robotic automation to create an interactive, technology-driven learning environment. By modernizing resource accessibility, LIBROBOT AI serves as a scalable model for implementation in schools, universities, and broader educational institutions.
