About the Project

Classroom comfort driven by Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ) factors like thermal, visual, and acoustic conditions directly impacts student focus and performance. Findings from several studies have indicated that classroom comfort can be significantly affected by low thermal comfort, poor lighting, and high noise pollution. Maintaining ideal standards requires temperature of 22°C to 24°C, humidity level of 40% to 60%, adequate lighting, and minimal noise. However, most classrooms are lacking of integrated systems for continuous monitoring, allowing discomfort to go unnoticed. To address this, the project presents an IoT-based classroom environmental monitoring system that tracks temperature, humidity, light intensity, and sound levels in real time. If any reading exceeds the established thresholds, an onboard buzzer alerts occupants while sensor data displays locally on an LCD screen and transmits concurrently to two platforms wirelessly; Blynk for live mobile monitoring and Supabase for cloud storage. The Base44 web application known as IDEALapp then reads from Supabase to provide a live dashboard, weekly trend reports, and AI-driven predictions that suggest corrective actions. By providing prompt notifications, actionable insights, and integrated automatic controls, this cost-effective and user-friendly system enables teachers and administrators to proactively maintain optimal learning environment which ultimately improve student concentration and performance.
