About the Project

FitPulse Monitor is an innovative smart pulse rate monitoring system developed to improve the accuracy and efficiency of measuring heart rate after exercise. This project addresses a common challenge during the Malaysian SEGAK (National Physical Fitness Standard) assessment, where pulse rate after exercise is one of the key evaluation components. Traditional manual pulse counting is often time-consuming, prone to human error, and difficult to record consistently, especially when assessing a large number of students. The system integrates an Arduino Uno microcontroller, a pulse sensor, an HC-05 Bluetooth module, and a mobile application developed using MIT App Inventor. The pulse sensor detects the user's heartbeat, while the Arduino processes the signal into Beats Per Minute (BPM). The BPM data is then transmitted wirelessly via Bluetooth to the smartphone application, allowing users and teachers to view heart rate readings instantly in real time. The application also indicates whether the pulse rate falls within a normal range after exercise.
