About the Project

BloomShift AI is a lecturer-guided prompt framework designed to push ACCA accounting students toward higher-order skills like critical analysis and evaluation, turning generative AI into an interactive learning partner rather than a shortcut for quick answers. Built to tackle student over-reliance on unguided AI tools and the tendency of AI models to lean toward simple recall, the framework pairs Revised Bloom’s Taxonomy with custom prompt templates to create scenario-based learning. Its five-phase design requires students to attempt complex tasks on their own before receiving AI feedback, while keeping educators in full control by mandating that lecturers double-check all AI-generated content for accounting accuracy before students see it. Right now, the initiative exists as a set of foundational design artifacts including conceptual workflows, prompt templates, and mapped skill levels. This project plan to test its impact through expert lecturer reviews and a student pilot, measuring metrics such as cognitive alignment, accounting precision, lecturer preparation time saved, and student rubric scores against basic, unstructured AI prompts. Overall, BloomShift AI provides educators with an accessible, low-cost way to encourage genuine analytical thinking, while emphasizing that hands-on lecturer oversight and strict student data privacy remain non-negotiable.
