About the Project

W2F (Waste2Fire) is an innovative fire starter developed based on the Waste-to-Value concept. It utilises a combination of discarded materials such as candle wax, used cooking oil, waste paper, dried leaves, and pencil shavings to produce an alternative fire-starting product. The innovation aims to transform commonly discarded household and school-based materials into a functional product through a simple and creative recycling approach. By combining combustible, fibrous, and binding materials, W2F is designed to provide an effective ignition source while promoting the reuse of waste materials. W2F demonstrates how everyday waste can be transformed into a product with practical value. The innovation also promotes environmental awareness, creative problem-solving, and the principles of a circular economy by encouraging users to view waste as a potential resource rather than simply as something to be discarded.
