About the Project

UNI-EATS is a smart campus food ecosystem that is ready for the future and is intended to support sustainable food management and bolster community resilience in academic settings. Unpredictable food demand, food waste, limited access to reasonably priced meals, lengthy wait times, and poor coordination of food resources amid unforeseen interruptions are just a few of the interrelated issues that university communities must deal with. These issues impact not just students and cafeteria staff, but also the resilience and sustainability of the larger campus community. In order to establish a more effective and sustainable campus food ecosystem, UNI-EATS combines digital technology, artificial intelligence, and community-based food management into a unified platform. The application uses AI-based food demand prediction to help cafeteria operators estimate the amount of food needed based on previous sales and campus activities. This helps reduce overproduction and unnecessary food waste. Additionally, excess appropriate community food assistance programs. Students can also look up meals based on price, calories, nutrition, and dietary preferences, which enables them to make more economical and knowledgeable food selections. UNI-EATS is a unique in that it combines community food assistance, inexpensive meal selection, excess food management, and AI food demand forecast into a single campus-based platform. During disruptions, the app also helps students find food resources and support services by providing information on food availability. Therefore, by establishing a robust, interconnected, and sustainable campus food ecology, UNI-EATS goes beyond traditional meal ordering. The invention can extended to colleges, universities, schools, hospitals, and office cafeterias and has a high potential for commercialisation.
