About the Project

This project demonstrates how Micro:bit-based automation can support smarter urban environments. It consists of an Automated Traffic Signal Simulation System, Voice-Activated Access Control Barrier, and Digital Smart Building Display System. The traffic system demonstrates programmed signal sequencing, the barrier uses voice commands and a servo motor for automated access, and the LCD displays digital building messages. The systems were designed, programmed, and tested using basic electronic components. The originality lies in combining three practical smart-city applications into one student-developed project. The project promotes STEM innovation and supports SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure) and SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities).
