Muqaran Explorer: A Bilingual Learning Prototype for Comparative Fiqh

About the Project

Muqaran Explorer is a bilingual, HTML-based learning prototype developed to support IMU601 Comparative Fiqh. It enables students to explore selected issues in ibadah, zakat, muamalat, munakahat, and halal food matters through structured comparisons of mazhab perspectives. The prototype includes an introduction to comparative fiqh, profiles of the four mazhabs, principles of adab al-ikhtilaf, and access to supplied course references. Students can select an issue, compare perspectives, examine evidence, and discuss differences respectfully. English and Bahasa Melayu options support bilingual learning, while its shareable offline format allows use in a web browser without installing an application. Muqaran Explorer supports independent revision and classroom discussion. It does not perform automatic tarjih or issue fatwas. The prototype has been completed, but its learning effectiveness has not yet been measured.
