About the Project

This paper discusses an innovation called the Virtual Reality Student Portfolio (VRSP), an interactive student portfolio developed for First Semester students of the Certificate in Building Construction Technology program at Jelebu Community College. It is designed to be applied in teaching and learning for the Construction Drawing course. The VRSP serves as a documentation tool for students' work in an interactive multimedia format using Virtual Reality technology. The situation before this innovation was as follows: (i) Student portfolios had to be printed and in A3 size. (ii) Student portfolios required large storage space for the physical documents. (iii) Hardcopy portfolios were difficult to carry to interviews. (iv) Conventional portfolio methods were not aligned with current technological advancements. The results after implementing the innovation are: (i) Student portfolios are now in digital format. (ii) Portfolios are mobile and user-friendly. (iii) These digital portfolios align with the technological needs of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR). The impact of using VRSP includes boosting students’ confidence for job interviews and simplifying the storage of their work documentation.
