About the Project

LEARNSTER: Ditch the Riba, Roll the Dice! is an innovative educational board game designed to simplify the often-complex terminology and concepts associated with Islamic banking and finance. Many students find these subjects challenging due to their highly technical nature and the continued reliance on conventional teaching approaches, which may not always encourage active participation or meaningful engagement. LEARNSTER incorporates gamification, interactive gameplay, and realistic banking simulations to create a dynamic and effective learning experience that supports deeper understanding and knowledge retention. Developed within a Shariah-compliant framework, the game introduces learners to fundamental principles of Islamic banking in an engaging, practical, and accessible manner. By transforming abstract theories into hands-on activities and decision-making scenarios, LEARNSTER enables students to connect theoretical knowledge with real-world applications. This approach not only strengthens conceptual understanding but also promotes critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and greater financial literacy. The primary aim of the project is to enhance students’ comprehension of Islamic banking and finance, thereby contributing to improved academic achievement and stronger examination performance.
