About the Project

Increasing petrol prices due to the global economy and geopolitical issues, along with a continuing reliance on private vehicles for commuting, have caused commuters to financially suffer from rising transportation costs, as well as creating traffic congestion, along with fuel wastage and pollution caused by carbon emissions. Because of this, this project will develop a Smart Ride Sharing application that will help connect commuters with a safe, affordable, and sustainable means to get from point A to point B. The project includes the development of a mobile application that was created using a software development lifecycle model, consisting of requirements gathering through the use of observational and survey data collected from commuters in the form of questionnaires, system design, prototyping, and usability testing of the application, primarily from the overall results of requirements gathering. The key features of the JomPool + prototype include: OTP, My Kad, selfie, live GPS tracking, SOS emergency button, rider and driver mutual acceptance of their ride.
