About the Project
Climate change and intermittent weather patterns pose significant challenges to continuous renewable energy generation. The HydroSolar Energy device addresses this issue by integrating photovoltaic and piezoelectric technologies into a unified, dual-weather power harvesting system. Designed to operate efficiently during both sunny and rainy conditions, the system utilizes solar panels to capture solar radiation while employing piezoelectric transducers beneath a targeted runoff surface to convert the kinetic impact of falling raindrops into electricity. A central energy management circuit regulates and stabilizes voltage outputs from both sources before storing the electricity in a shared battery unit. Experimental evaluations demonstrate a continuous power supply across varying weather transitions, achieving cost-effective energy harvesting at a modest prototype build cost. Ultimately, HydroSolar Energy offers a scalable, low-carbon solution to enhance off-grid power resilience in tropical and high-rainfall regions.
