EduFocus AIoT: AI-Powered Smart Classroom Engagement and Learning Environment Monitoring System

About the Project

EduFocus AIoT is an innovative smart classroom system developed by Team Changkat Innovators from SJKT Changkat to improve the classroom learning environment and student engagement. In many classrooms, students find it difficult to concentrate because of excessive noise, poor lighting, uncomfortable temperatures, and distractions during lessons. This project aims to help teachers identify these problems through real-time monitoring using Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Internet of Things (IoT) technology. The system uses an ESP32 microcontroller, DHT22 temperature and humidity sensor, sound sensor, LDR light sensor, RFID reader, and USB webcam. The webcam works with AI-based computer vision software to estimate student engagement and identify general classroom attention patterns. Meanwhile, the RFID system records student attendance, and the collected data is displayed on an OLED screen and the Blynk cloud dashboard. By combining environmental information with student engagement data, EduFocus AIoT generates a Classroom Focus Score to help teachers understand the overall learning conditions. This project aims to support better classroom management, improve student concentration, and create a more comfortable, effective, and technology-driven learning environment.
