About the Project

ECO-DRY: Energy-Efficient and Eco-Friendly Shoe Drying System Wet shoes are a common problem among students, teachers, and athletes, especially during rainy weather. Conventional shoe-drying methods often require a long time and depend heavily on sunlight and environmental conditions. ECO-DRY is an innovative shoe-drying system designed to provide faster and more efficient drying through directed airflow. The system uses a drying chamber and strategically positioned fans to circulate air around the shoes, helping moisture evaporate more effectively. A humidity sensor and microcontroller can also be integrated to monitor moisture levels and automatically control the drying process. The prototype aims to reduce drying time while minimising unnecessary energy consumption. Experimental testing can be conducted by comparing the weight reduction of wet shoes dried using ECO-DRY and conventional methods over a fixed period. ECO-DRY supports Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 7, 9, 12, and 13 by promoting energy efficiency, technological innovation, responsible resource use, and environmentally sustainable practices.
