About the Project

ECHOAID is a smart driving assistance system designed to help deaf and hard-of-hearing drivers detect emergency vehicle sirens in real time. The system uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) to detect and identify siren sounds from ambulances, fire trucks, and police vehicles. When a siren is detected, ECHOAID provides simultaneous alerts through both the device and the user’s smartphone. The device produces a visual warning signal, while the smartphone provides vibration and notification alerts. By integrating AI-based sound detection with multi-channel alert technology, ECHOAID aims to improve drivers’ situational awareness, support faster responses, and enhance road safety. This innovation provides an inclusive and practical solution that addresses the challenges faced by deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals while promoting safer and more accessible mobility.
