About the Project
This project introduces CheckIn+, an integrated smart event management application designed to improve check-in, navigation and crowd management at large-scale Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) events. Traditional event processes often involve long registration queues, limited real-time crowd monitoring, attendee disorientation, missed sessions and the cost and waste of printed badges. CheckIn+ addresses these challenges by integrating secure QR check-in, an optional IoT smart badge, computer vision, a Live Venue Digital Twin, haptic and Augmented Reality (AR) navigation, automated push notifications and event feedback and success analytics. The system enables faster entry through self-scan verification and dynamic e-badges, while crowd information is visualised through colour-coded venue zones to support real-time monitoring. Haptic and AR guidance assist attendees in navigating the venue, while automated alerts provide timely updates on sessions, room changes and crowd conditions. A multilingual Malay-English interface further improves accessibility, while post-event feedback and success analytics provide organisers with insights to evaluate attendee experiences and overall event performance. This innovation aims to improve operational efficiency, enhance attendee safety and experience, and also reduce reliance on printed event materials.
