About the Project
Banana was produced mostly in tropical areas such as Southeastern Asia, South and Central America, and Africa. Approximately 7 million tons of bananas are produced annually in the world. Bananas are the most popular fruit in the world and are a common tropical fruit in markets like Malaysia, where banana chips and other byproducts are also well-liked. Banana peel is commonly thrown away after eating the fruit and the banana peel contributes to waste management problems, especially in developing nations. Banana peels contribute to pollution in Malaysia by frequently ending up as waste in landfills. Banana peels are among the various fruit wastes produced by the agricultural and fruit processing industries. Anaerobic digestion and odor are two problems that make this waste a public health and environmental hazard. It is often considered as a pollution. The objective of this study is to determine the nutritional facts of banana peel drinks and the level of caffeine it contains in Banana Peel Drink. The result indicated the presence of crude protein 11.7g/100g, carbohydrate content at 12.6g/100g, fat 6.9g/100g and energy content is 353kcal/100g. Besides that, Banana Peel Drink also contained no caffeine, which made it a suitable substitute for consumers seeking a caffeine-free drink.
