About the Project
Baked Waste Fertilizer explores the potential of converting food waste into environmentally friendly organic fertilizer. The project addresses excessive pesticide use, soil degradation, and the lack of research on suitable baking durations for food waste fertilizer production. Corn husks, potato peels, and carrot skins were baked at 80°C for different durations to determine the optimal treatment. Results showed that baking for 30 minutes effectively prevented mold growth after one week. The fertilizers recorded pH values of 7.10, 9.13, and 7.22, respectively. This project promotes food waste reduction, sustainable agriculture, and affordable fertilizer production, with further research needed to evaluate nutrient content and plant growth effectiveness.
